02. OPEN BOOK πŸ“–

hey stranger,

how’s it hangin.

i thought i had done barely any drawing this week, but when i went to take photos of sketchbook to share with you, turns out I’ve drawn fair amount!

It’s funny what we arbitrarily decide is β€œenough” work, creative or otherwise. And those goal posts always seem to shift a little out of reach, don’t they?

This comic from Monday says,

β€œI AM DOING MY BEST & THAT’S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.”

That’s been a go-to phrase this week. Whether I mess up big time or succeed wildly, it’s reassuring to remember that I’m giving this life my best effort.

And I don’t mean β€œbest” like β€œhardest” or β€œmost successful.” I mean I’m doing things the me-est way I know how. I’m being authentic and taking actions that align with my values as much as I can, and when I fumble, I forgive myself. Or at least I do my best.

… and that’s good enough for me.

With that, here are some doodles from this week, plus some collages I made!

The background photos are from my travels in Inishmore, one of the Aran Islands off the coast of Galway, Ireland. This view spot is called DΓΊn Aonghasa, and I think it might be the coolest place I saw in my three months of travel.

That’s all, folks! Thanks for being here.
